Is Vaping Right For Me?

When it comes to giving up smoking, the choice to do so can usually come with a lot of fraught thinking about how you'll pass your time, and what you'll do once you're not a smoker. This can sometimes be the reason a lot of people fail at giving up, because that one last cigarette, never becomes the final one. 

The difference between deciding to quit smoking and making the switch to vaping is that you don't need to make a decision of giving up once and for all. That one last cigarette doesn't come, you just change what you're using, that's all.

So, if you're wanting to know if vaping is right for you, then here are a few facts about vaping...

What are e-cigarettes?
An e-cigarette is a device that allows you to inhale nicotine in a vapour rather than in the tobacco smoke you would inhale from cigarettes. Now, many people think nicotine is very harmful to health but although it is addictive, nicotine is relatively harmless and the most risks from smoking is down to the thousands of other chemicals in tobacco smoke that cause almost all the harm from smoking. Using an e-cigarette is known as vaping, and many people tend to choose this, as a better way to cut out cigarettes, rather than going full cold turkey.

What does an e-cigarette do?
E-cigarettes heat a solution that is inside it, called e cigarette liquid, which typically contains nicotine and flavourings. People tend to switch to vaping when they want the nicotine but don't want a cigarette, which contains tobacco and produces tar or carbon monoxide, both of which can be so damaging to our health. 

Is vaping safer than cigarettes?
E-cigarettes are not completely risk-free but experts, scientists and doctors all give a range of being at least 95% less harmful than smoking cigarettes, so if you are wanting to give it a try, it'll be so much better for you. Although they can still contain harmful chemicals, this is at so much of a lower level than cigarettes. 

Should I swap?
This one is quite easy to answer. Yes, you probably should. This is mainly down to yourself, but realistically, vaping is much safer than smoking, and less damaging to your health. If you aren't ready to fully stop, or just don't want to, then you should give vaping a try. 


  1. I have never smoked so would not even consider vaping!

  2. Both my my former partner and I used to smoke, I decided to give up and did just that, I just stopped. My former partner decided to swap to vaping, but it cost him even more that the cigarettes had!

  3. We smoke, but we are not convinced that vaping is any safer....
